Greetings from Lake View!
I hope that the Thanksgiving season is a happy one for
all of you! We have really been enjoying
this school year. Our teachers, students and staff have all been working very
hard.
We recently have been talking a lot about
reading. Working together, we have set
some goals within each classroom that we are going to try and reach. Each grade level has also set a goal. As a school, our goal is to have 79% of our
students at grade level on their reading by the end of the year. This will be determined by the end of year
DIBELS score. The DIBELS assessment is
administered three times per year.
We are working hard to improve our instruction and to
use data more effectively as we track student progress. We are also trying to be more flexible and
adaptable with our use of small group instruction and group assignment.
We have already benefited from the help of many
volunteers who are helping us to monitor the progress of our students. We are very grateful for that
assistance.
Time will tell if we reach our goals, but I am very
optimistic that we can do it.
Thank you for your support! You children are incredible and they are our
purpose here at Lake View.
Mr. Johnson
