During the closing weeks of school, a great deal of time and effort is invested in determining classroom placement and teacher assignments for our students for the upcoming school year. Every effort is made to assign children to a class where the child will receive the best educational opportunities.
This placement process is completed in the following manner. Teachers working together on a grade level team will create a recommendation of class rosters after taking into consideration the following factors: girl/boy ratios, a balance of academic levels, social relationships and student strengths and needs. Once created, the rosters go to the principal for final approval.
If you as a parent feel that there is information we should be aware of prior to making these class assignments, we invite you to fill out the Parent Input Form, which has been made available in the office and is attached here as well. To be considered, this form must be returned to the office no later than May 10, 2018. Due to the complexity of the placement process, specific teacher requests will not be accepted unless a compelling, justifiable and educationally based reason is present.
Students will receive their class placement by May 31, 2018. They will then have the opportunity to meet their new teacher.
